D&L Committee Vision Statement

To increase diversity and inclusion among CSPN’s membership and leadership

D&L Committee Mission

To address diversity issues and institutionalize inclusion across CSPN and its initiatives.  To provide recommendations to the Executive Board to define and promote diversity and inclusion for purposes of working across CSPN to develop new avenues and opportunities for a wider number and variety of Members to assume leadership roles on the Executive Board, in committees, at conferences and in working groups.

Defining Diversity

Diversity is a goal.  The purpose of this goal is to create inclusive spaces for the whole of CSPN members and to diversify our plan participants by expanding access to our programs. We recognize that every individual is unique.  Accordingly, we adopt a broad definition that encompasses the range of human differences and experiences.  When thinking about “diversity” and “diversifying” we look at traits including, but not limited to, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical & mental abilities, veteran status, education, religious beliefs, geographic location, political beliefs or other ideologies.
