Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15 All day

Each year, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated in the U.S. from September 15th to October 15th to honor Hispanic and Latino communities and their important contributions to our country. The start of the month-long celebration recognizes the anniversaries of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Additionally, Mexico celebrates its independence on September 16th and Chile on September 18th. The month ends in mid-October because several Central and South American countries celebrate Día de la Raza on October 12th to honor the people, cultures, and traditions destroyed by Spanish and European colonization. You can learn more by visiting the National Hispanic Heritage Month website.
