Earlier this year, the College Savings Plans Network (CSPN), in partnership with Invite Education, launched new 529 plan search and compare tools. This feature will help anyone looking to learn more about college savings and prepaid tuition plans in their state and around the country.

To utilize these tools, simply visit the collegesavings.org website, and click “529 Search & Compare” under the “529 Plan Info” tab. Then select from several plan features to search for and compare 529 plans of interest. The goal for CSPN is to make the search for a 529 plan less intimidating and simple to navigate. By utilizing these new tools, this goal is now a reality.

For those interested in learning more about the plans offered by the state where they live but don’t know where to start, another new tool available is the “Find My State’s 529 Plan.” When researching 529 plans, one should always consider their home state’s plan(s) first. A home state plan may offer state tax or other incentives to residents. This new tool offers a map of the country with each plan hyperlinked into the graphic. Information appears below with specifics on plan basics, fees, state benefits and tax information, and more.

All the information needed to explore 529 plan options across the country is now available at your fingertips! CSPN encourages members, plans, and programs to link to these useful tools on their own websites and social media platforms to better spread the word. Picking the right plan might have been daunting in the past, but thanks to these new tools, it’s as simple as a Google search.
