Idaho taxpayers can deduct up to $4,000 ($8,000 married filing jointly) annually from their state adjusted gross income for contributions.*

Idaho offers state tax exemptions for earnings from IDeal - Idaho College Savings Program.

Any earnings are Idaho and federally tax-free when used to pay for qualified expenses. Earnings on non-qualified withdrawals are subject to federal income tax and may be subject to a 10% federal penalty tax, as well as state and local income taxes. The availability of tax or other benefits may be contingent on meeting other requirements. See the Enrollment Kit for more details on qualified expenses.
